In the aftermath of the El Paso shooting that claimed 20, a white male gunman opened fire in a popular nightclub district in Dayton, Ohio. The suspected gunman 24-year-old Connor Betts of Bellbrook, Ohio, was killed by Dayton Police. Betts killed nine people early Sunday morning, six of whom were Black, as reported by the New York Times.The victims were identified by the police as, Lois L. Oglesby, 27, a Black female; Saeed Saleh, 38, a Black male; Derrick R. Fudge, 57, a Black male; Thomas J. McNichols, 25, a Black male; Beatrice N. Warren-Curtis, 36, a Black female; Monica E. Brickhouse, 39, a Black female; Logan Turner, 30, a white male; Nicholas P. Cumer, 25, a white male; and Betts' own sister, Megan K. Betts, 22, a white female.About 26 people in the historic Oregon district were injured in the chaos. The suspect was wearing body armor and carried extra magazines, authorities report.The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Mayor Nan Whaley has been in touch with other mayors around the nation dealing with rampant gun violence. The family of Alaina Housley, including Tamera Mowry-Housley, are calling for change after the 18-year-old died during Wednesday's mass shooting in California. The family spoke to CBS News about the young woman's death."My daughter's body was brought back to Napa today," said her father, Arik Housley. "We're going to bury her in four days. I should not have to do that."Adam Housley, her uncle and a former Fox News correspondent, admitted he had covered stories like this but shared following this one has been surreal because Alaina is family."I've been to these things, Lee. Update (November 8, 2018):  The niece of Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley has been confirmed as one of the victims killed in Wednesday night's shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in California. Another tragic notch was added to the United States' belt of mass shootings on Thursday when a woman opened fire at a Maryland Rite Aid distribution center. The suspect, Snochia Moseley, fatally shot three co-workers and left three others wounded before turning the gun on herself. The 26-year-old was a temporary Rite Aid employee and described as a typically "nice" person. However, her page also reveals that she believed in the "law of retaliation," citing her favorite Bible verse as Exodus 21:24: "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."Whether her actions were motivated by revenge have yet to be determined. She now joins the 4 percent of female mass shooters. Adam Lankford, a criminologist at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, reveals that mass killings, or  homicides involving three or more victims, are rarely carried out by women. According to The Washington Post, the most recent mass shootings by women involved three people being wounded in April at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California. In 2012, three people were fatally shot at the University of Alabama in Huntsville by a professor who was angry after being denied tenure.Police say the three wounded victims are expected to survive. A late Sunday night at the Art All Night festival in Trenton, New Jersey, turned into a horror story when a shooting erupted. As crowds rushed to the exits, some people were trampled.According to the New York Times, the shooting at the 24-hour-festival appeared to be gang-related; 17 people shot.There were at least three gunmen. Of the three, 32-year-old Tahaij Wells was shot dead by police. Another gunman, 23-year-old Amir Armstrong, was arrested on weapon charges, and an unidentified gunman is hospitalized and in critical condition. Mercer County prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri spoke at a news conference about the matter on Sunday: “There was a report that the mood inside the venue had been changing,” Onofri said. The prosecutor confirmed there was “numerous physical altercations that took place both inside and outside of the venue" before the shooting. Trenton mayor-elect Reed Gusciora said he received a Facebook screenshot that read “Please, please do not go to Art All Night! In the wake of the mass shooting at a Florida high school, "CNN Tonight" host Don Lemon says there's one common denominator in America -- access to guns.While speaking on the show Wednesday, Lemon called out America's obsession with guns and the easy access most Americans have to them.
