Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade Create Limited Edition Pride Shirts For LGBTQ Nonprofit

Actress Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are selling pride shirts to support The GLSEN organization.

Actress Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwyane Wade are continuing their philanthropic efforts by raising funds for an LGBTQ nonprofit.

The couple announced they'd be creating limited-edition shirts for the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network on Instagram on Saturday, posting a family picture with their three sons.

"As a family, we believe inclusion and equality are two essential pillars needed to move towards growth and progressive thinking and action in our society," Union wrote on her Instagram. "We have created a Limited Edition t-shirt to help create a more inclusive space with our platform."

In partnership with the fashion brand, YNGDNA, the Wade family has decided to donate $50,000, along with 50% of the proceeds of sales of the pride shirts to the GLSEN organization.

GLSEN, a nonprofit which has been around for 25 years, strives to ensure safe schools for all students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.

The t-shirts feature YNGDNA's name in rainbow colors on the front and a message on the back, saying “Please remain inclusive and dedicated 2 equality.”

“GLSEN is honored and humbled by the Wade Family’s gift, and so tremendously grateful for their support in the hard work ahead to ensure that all LGBTQ students and youth feel safe, accepted, and included at school,” GLSEN wrote in an email, according to NBC.

In an interview with Variety earlier this year, Wade expressed his desire to support the LGBTQ community.

Wade said he supported his 12-year-old son's decision to attend the gay pride parade in April.

“I don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell,” Wade told Variety. “I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job. And my job as a father is to facilitate their lives and to support them and be behind them in whatever they want to do ... Go and be your amazing self, and we’re going to sit back and just love you.”
