Gabrielle Union has been known to clap back at sly comments and set the record straight. She does not play — especially when it comes to her kids.
She proved such once again last Thursday when trolls were commenting on a picture of her, her daughter Kaavia and her stepson Zion. Her husband Dwyane Wade posted a photo of the three on his Instagram, captioning it “My Girls.”
While there was nothing but smiling faces in the picture, fans expressed issues with the caption, specifically Wade calling his 11-year-old son a girl.
One Twitter user began the hoopla by posting a screenshot of Wade’s post, along with the caption “What y’all think about this?”
Union saw the tweet and shut that ish down. The actress retweeted it and replied “Looks like love to me. I truly hope that everyone gets the love, support and hugs they deserve. Also Kaav ain’t with the dumb s**t. Peace and blessings good people.”

Although the negativity is what got the Being Mary Jane star’s attention, most social media users showed support.
“Am I supposed to raise an eyebrow at parents loving their kids?” one Twitter user replied.
“It takes no effort to be kind or mind ya business,” another said.
"And that's on what? PERIOD. We stan a supportive family who loves their kids for who they are," one user said.

This isn’t the first time the fashion designer has been outspoken about loving and supporting her kids.
“People talk a lot about diversity and inclusion, but they don’t actually mean it. In our household, we mean that, and that’s why the entire household went to pride.”
